Hello,
I just wanted to pass on some information to you about what’s been happening at the club.

At the Club’s recent annual meeting it was determined to formally re-establish the South Launceston Junior Football Club Inc. as a separate legal and financial entity to the Senior Football Club.

The Junior Club will continue to call Youngtown Oval our home.

The new South Launceston Junior Football Club Inc. has appointed me as President and I will be assisted by two Vice Presidents – Greg Prosser and Neil Watson and a Committee of 12 volunteer parents including Phil Davis who has kindly stayed on as a Committee member to assist us through the transition year.

Assistance has also been offered by Daniel Smedley and Braden McGee if needed.

This is a very exciting time for the Junior Club as this means we get to manage our own funds including registration, canteen, sponsorship and fundraising. We are however, expected to pay a share of expenses incurred at the club – power, water etc.

I feel this new direction is a positive move for the Junior Club as it brings ‘ownership’ back to us – the parents of the Junior players. We plan to bring the ‘Junior culture’ back to the club with pro-active involvement at all levels including social interaction with parents/children, working closely with coaches, holding pie nights etc.

Please feel free to contact us with any concerns or ideas you might have to improve our Junior Club. We also ask for any spare time you may have to help out, be it on game days or behind the scenes. (we do have a number of fundraising days planned held away from the club that require helpers)

Looking forward to a great ’South Launceston Junior Football Club’ in 2013.
